PT - Introducing 5th grade to PlayFood

Thematic: Growing your Own Food

As part of our efforts to increase impact within the local community of Portugal, under the thematic “Growing Your Own Food”, we introduced the class of 5th grade to PLAYFOOD with a visited to Vivid Farms.

Kids were separated into two groups. One group would go on a farm tour, guided by Raiza Rezende identifying on a map key elements of the farm: trees, floers, insects, and fruits. They had to draw on maps provided, developing direction and observational skills.

The other group participated on a tasting game facilitated by Bárbara Arita, where they would close their eyes, try a food coming from the garden, and guess what was it. The game was very engaging and the kids loved it.

All kids participated in both activities.

The day also included outdoor playtime and the opportunity to taste fresh produce directly from the gardens, reinforcing the joy and value of growing food locally.
