Thematic: Growing your Own Food

RHIZO joined a rotating workshop morning in Zemst with Pimpernelschool and experts from Pomko, GoodPlanet, CAG and Werkplaats Immaterieel Erfgoed. The programme included four rotating workshops: tasting apple varieties, making an apple tree through grafting, a biodiversity/soil/ecosystem tour linked to orchard growing, and a creative harvest workshop using apples. Students were divided into small groups and followed all four workshops through a rotation system.

The activity directly supported the PLAYFOOD theme Growing Our Own Food while also addressing biodiversity, fruit diversity and food heritage. The rotating format encouraged active participation and collaborative learning, allowing students to experience different aspects of sustainable food production through practical activities led by specialist organisations.
