BE - Feest in ’t Groen
Thematic: Local and Seasonal Eating
RHIZO participated in Feest in ’t Groen in Torhout together with Pomko through a public stand and repeated activities mainly directed at parents, teachers, and adult visitors. The event was strongly focused on Local and Seasonal Eating, especially through fruit-based examples and expert-led discussion on why eating local and seasonal produce matters.
Visitors engaged with a short repeated talk/keynote format, Q&A, and an ongoing quiz that encouraged reflection on seasonal fruit, local food choices, and the value of consuming food in closer connection to place and season. In addition, RHIZO provided the stamp for the event-card activity: participants who took part in the PLAYFOOD activities received our stamp at the stand, which helped encourage participation and movement through the event.
A pomologist from Pomko, brought specific expertise on fruit varieties and their relevance to local and seasonal eating, while the expert in landscaping added complementary perspectives from ecological gardening and food forests.
